Part One
Once upon a time, a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who was faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. They agreed on a route and started off the race. The hare run shot ahead and ran briskly for sometime. Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought he'd sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race. He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise plodding on overtook him and emerged as the champ!

Moral of the story is " Slow and steady wins the race"

The story continues....

Part Two
The hare was disappointed at losing the race. He did a reflection and realized he lost the race only because he was overconfident and careless. If he had not taken things for granted, there's no way the tortoise could have beaten him.

So he challenged the tortoise to another race and the tortoise agreed. This time, the hare went all out and ran without stopping from start to finish. He won by several miles.

Moral of the story, " Fast and consistent will always beat the slow and steady"

The story doesn't end here...

Part Three
The tortoise did a reflection and realised there is no way he can beat the hare in a running race. He thought for a while and then challenged the hare to another race but on a slightly different route. The hare agreed.

They started off. The hare kept to his self made commitment to be consistently fast. He was way ahead of the tortoise until he came to a broad river. The finishing line was a couple of kilometers on the other side of the river.

The hare sat there wondering what to do. In the meantime, the tortoise trundled along and got into the river and swam to the opposite bank and won the race!

Moral of the story,
" First identify your strength and then change the playing field to suit your strength!"

The story still hasn't ended...

Part Four
The hare and the tortoise, by this time, had become pretty good friends and they did some thinking together. Both realized that the last race could better.

So they decided to do the last race again but to run as a team this time. They started off and this time the hare carried the tortoise till the riverbank. THere, the tortoise took over and swam across with the hare on his back. On the opposite bank, the hare again carried the tortoise and they reached the finishing line together. They both felt a greater sense of satisfaction than they'd felt earlier.

Moral of story?
It's good to be individually brillant; but unless you are able to work as a team and harness each other's core competencies, you'll always perform below par because there will ALWAYS be situations at which you'll do poorly and someone else does well.

Mrs Chia and I have been a maid for 3E3 for the past few days ( maybe not the past few days but the past few days+ some other occasions during PC period). Picking up litters, sweeping the floor, clearing the top and tidying the cupboards, clearing rubbish underneath tables ...... the list goes on and on..

I begin to ask myself this question, "Why do we(Mrs Chia and I) have to do all these???" And the one and only answer is our dear boys and girls are taking things for granted. I always thought that by picking up litters myself, putting effort to make the classroom clean, care for everyone of u all would encourage u all to be alittle bit more responsible and considerate. But i guess it is just my wishful thinking.

So what do we get by showing empathy, giving leeway to our boys and girls and sparing a thought for their feeling?
We get inconsiderate, irresponisible and self-centered boys and girls? taking things for granted? testing patience? Our love, care, encouragement and kindness brought misery to ourselves? in other word, frustration and disappointment are the end products of showing empathy, giving leeway and sparing a thought for your feeling.

I am sick of telling what you all should do. IS not that you all dunno what is expected of u, the fact is u all noe wad is expected but simply refused to do it. Perhaps, thing would have be better for us if we are stricter; punish over the slightest mistakes, not sparing a thought for your feelings, embarrasing u all in front of others when u commit a mistake. i guess i cant answer this question myself. Perhaps, our dear boys and girls are in a better position to answer this question...

Frankly speaking, Mrs CHia and I are always proud of our form class. But after seeing things deteriorating over the past few weeks, i begin to have some doubt; how long can i be proud of my own class? Again, i can't answer this qns as well. I guess only time can tell...

I know most of u all have put in effort in certain things; studying hard for chem common test, working tog to decorate classroom, working tog during CNY celebration, putting in effort to complete the morning run as a class and many others things. I really do appreciate all these and would like to say "Thank You" to my dear boys and girls. But one thing that i am certain is that if you all are going to become an inconsiderate, irrresponisble and self centerred individual, we wont go far.....

* FYI, this post is not simply about cleanliness of the classroom. Instead it's all about 3e3 behaviour and attitude in all aspect... Reflect on your own actions.. *

(if you dont have canned food, you can bring bottled drinks)
